Broadband competition entries

The latest entries in this month's Broadband Competition!

Let us all be realistic, the majority of African countries suffer from lack of education, this problem may seem small at first, but when one considers the after math of such problems then things like poverty and disease don't seem that hard to believe in today's world.

With greater broadband, teaching networks could be established where live video feeds and streaming could happen from one class room to another across cities or even countries.

With over 50% of South Africa’s population being under the age of 24 and trends indicating increasing urbanisation, thought should be given to converting South Africa’s current informal and rural settlements into tomorrow’s economic hubs. By investing into infrastructure development in these informal settlements, Seacom would be promoting sustainability and upliftment.

I am a chess enthusiast. Broadband could so redefine the world of chess as we know it. Players can follow all tournaments anywhere in the world in one central location and discuss the games as they happen in real time which is one of the best ways of improving your game. A club could play another club in a remote area in realtime over broadband. It would be possible to raise the standard of African chess to new heights.

its time to do away with the control and pricing fixtures and allow SeaCom to sell directly to end user thereby bypassing all control and pricing issues
If it can happen for BT users in the UK it can happen here!

With the arrival of high speed internet access, Africans in developing countries will have access to consultations with physicians in the first world.

With a somewhat skilled facilitator present, patients can be examined (using video conferencing, and potentially using other medical equipment and telemetry) by highly skilled professionals which they would otherwise never have had access to.

By providing more broadband infastructure into Africa will give the continent the capability of providing a better, stable and reliable IP infasturcture to provide ALL access to internet and other services.

Knowledge is power. With vast resources of information that equates to knowledge it can only allow all to benefit, students to companies, young to old.

I use the internet every day of my life, if speeds and capacity can be increased the internet can be a valuable business tool.

Improving the information highway will provide information at your finger tips!
