Welcome to the Seacom blog

With a few days away from our official launch of the Seacom cable, we’re just as excited about our presence in the South African blogosphere. We hope to keep you updated and informed of the latest developments as the cable opens up to Internet service providers all over SA and on the African continent.

Broadband and the way we connect with the world via the Web is set to change drastically with the advent of the underwater cable that we will be launching at Mtunzini on 27 June 2009. The Seacom blog is here for you to help us track these changes and share in a better, faster and limitless Internet experience.

At this stage, we’re not sure how the Seacom cable we’ve been developing for the last 5 years is going to change the South African web landscape, but one things for sure is set in stone – Seacom is here to revolutionize the African telecommunications industry and we will do so by providing the necessary infrastructure that allows faster Internet access to the global village.

It will be your tales of faster downloads, new industry breakthroughs and the groundbreaking possibilities offered through user generated content that will ultimately reveal the way our underwater cable network has helped you be a better digital citizen online. We can’t wait to hear from you so please sign up on the Seacom blog and take part in the discussions, connect with us and share you Seacom experience. Only you can truly reveal the true power of open communication on the African continent so show us and welcome to the Seacom family.

Looking forward to those drop down net charges with minimal latency (if any :-))

Oh how I wish for uncapped broadband for my little business :)

Well done on laying those cables - we use tons of broadband at South Africa Travel Online and hopefully this will bring the price down.
