A little about the Flip UltraHD to entice you - "The Flip UltraHD camcorder combines Flip Video's signature shoot-and-share simplicity with the power of vivid, vibrant HD video. With 120 minutes of record time, you'll never miss another minute again. And because of UltraHD's pocket-sized portability, you'll truly be able to capture HD video anytime, anywhere."
Living in South Africa with it's high crime rate, I would like to see every Security Company and Police squad vehicle equipped with a laptop that is hooked up via cellular 3G/HSDPA connections to live webcams to as many households, businesses and street corners in South Africa as possible.
I have been playing/developing with this idea for a while, but unfortunately don't have the funds to get such an idea off the ground. I really think that such a project will decrease crime statistics dramatically in South Africa, especially with the upcoming FIFA 2010 Soccer World Cup being hosted in South Africa.
Every squad vehicle could be like a mini control center and response vehicles can monitor live updates as they are on their way to a crime scene and then plan ahead even before they even reach the scene!!! An advantage the criminal does not have.
These webcams could even be linked via GPS systems. The possibilities are endless!
Glad to see this.........
